    I Wished to Work in the Manner of Callot

    The core of the exhibition are engravings of Jacques Callot (1592/93–1635). Seventy etchings, owned until recently by 'Albertina' in Vienna, and one drawing by a renowned French master have been provided to the foundation by Moscow collectors.

    Realised by the IN ARTIBUS foundation, the translation and publication of Pelli’s travel notes and letters, kept all these years by his heirs in Switzerland, are basically the first hard copy of Luigi Pelli’s records published in Russia.

The first part of the publication features Kasatkin’s works from Inna Bazhenova’s collection, along with a detailed interview with the artist, in which he not only shares encyclopedic knowledge of history of painting, but also demonstrates a detailed professional analysis of creative work 'from within'. The second part is organized chronologically, with reproductions of the artist’s works by period and an analytical analysis by fine art expert Elena Khlopina.
