Victor Razgulin (b. 1948) is an artist of exceptionally successful creative destiny. All his professional troubles ended in 1974, with his admission to the Serov Leningrad Art College. where the applicant had not been accepted for several years: his courage and his new look at the painting were not approved of. Then everything was fine: recognition in the Leningrad art associations of the left wing, work in Moscow, creative orders, group exhibitions and then personal ones, international exhibitions, membership in the Russian Academy of Arts, awards, titles, articles and albums, collectors in Moscow, St. Petersburg, America, France, Switzerland, Japan, China - scientists, politicians, art historians and businessmen. The first work in the collection of Inna Bazhenova was exactly the picture of Viktor Razgulin, since then he is one of the favorite artists of the founder of the IN ARTIBUS foundation.
Razgulin's painting is very recognizable: bright colors, large format, characteristic artful and simple imagery, maybe Russian-folk, Gorodets roots (the artist was born in the ancient town of Gorodets on the Volga bank), or an elevated primitive technique in the spirit of Henri Matisse and his fauvist friends. He works with themes common to classical art: portrait in the interior and landscape. The secret of the charm of Razgulin's painting is in its complexity and multilayeredness.
The State Tretyakov Gallery acquired his works in the late 80's, followed by the Russian Museum and regional museums - the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum, the Yaroslavl Art Museum, the Novosibirsk State Art Museum, the Vologda Regional Picture Gallery and others.
